VINELAND - After a difficult January, the Dukes returned to form to begin February with a victory over visiting Harrisburg Area, 81-78.
Jamaal Davis led all scorers with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Off the bench, Vance Brown chipped in with 12 points and Amir Elston poured in 13 points including back to back threes late in the 1st half that gave the Dukes the lead for good. The star of the show was freshman, Jameel Purnell. Purnell scored 20 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and had 11 blocks. The Bridgeton native narrowly missed a quadruple double as he also added 8 assists. He was instrumental on the defensive end in keeping the HACC Hawks at bay as the Dukes made their way to victory.
The victory keeps their postseason hopes alive as the Dukes must win their remaining Region 19 contests in order to qualify.
