Dukes experiencing growing pains
VINELAND - RCSJ-Cumberland Womens Basketball are experiencing the peaks and valleys of a collegiate basketball season. The Dukes are coming off their first postseason appearance in nearly a decade and entered the 2025-26 campaign with a roster that double in size and the excitement to match.
Sophomore Juju Wilson returned to the team after an injury kept her from game action at Rutgers-Camden during the 2024-25 season. Her return paired her with exciting freshman D'Niyah Brisbone from Cumberland Regional. Head Coach TSgt George Linen, who enters his 4th season at the helm, also returned Sky Oyola, along with newcomers Monica Bishop, Jayla Bowman, Leslie Ramirez during the early recruitment period. Halie McKee, Marcela Villalpando, and Maricuz Cardoso joined during the summer recruitment period to round out the roster.
Despite the early season woes, Wilso leads the team in scoring with 12 ppg and assists while Bishop leads the team in rebounds with 6 per game. The Dukes have yet to find the win column and will look to do so this Saturday, 11/22 as they host Montgomery County (PA).
