Kelsey Andres named Female Scholar Athlete of the Year

VINELAND - RCSJ-Cumberland Womens Soccer endured what many athletic departments and programs went through during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dukes Womens Soccer had their 2020 season cancelled and was unable to participate in the abbreviated Spring 2021 season.  Despite the hardships, there was one student-athlete who attended every practice, every meeting, and eventually played in every game during the Fall 2021 season.  That student-athlete was Kelsey Andres. Due to her dedication to the RCSJ-Cumberland family and her extraordinary academic performance where she earned a cumulative 3.7 GPA and is headed ECPI University to complete her degree.

Director of Athletics, Jonathan Dijamco shared his thoughts on Andres: "Our program would have been dormant for three whole years if it weren't for Kelsey.  We tell our students that availability will always be your best ability.  What made her even greater was her reliability and her consistency in all facets of her game and academics.  Kelsey will remain the example of what it means to be a Cumberland Duke and we have no doubt she will be a leader in whatever she chooses to do moving forward.  We are a better college and athletics department because of her."
