After leading 46-40 at halftime, the Dukes stifled the Viking offense, holding them to just 27 points the rest of the way. That was the difference, as Cumberland scored 40 of their own after the break on its way to a fifth straight victory and win number 18 on the season. Freshman Artaeja Loatman, reigning GSAC player of the week, led a Dukes team that had five different players score eleven points or more. Loatman piled up 23 points and 10 rebounds and Jodi Kelley scored 15 points on 3 of 5 shooting from long-range. Jasmine Miro (12), Courtney Nock (12), and Kyra Lunsford (11) joined Loatman and Kelley in double-figures.
The Dukes improved to 18-1 on the season and will now have a full week to prepare for a Brookdale team that handed them their only loss on the season thus far. Cumberland will host the Jersey Blues on Thursday January 30th, with the game tipping off at 5PM.
