The 2013-14 season started off with high expectations for the Cumberland Women's Basketball Program just one year removed from falling short in the Region XIX Title Game. The Dukes are off to a 4-0 start, showing the rest of Region XIX that last season was not a fluke.
It appears as though the women's team is set for another successful season, but they might not be the only basketball program on campus grabbing the attention of opposing teams, as the Cumberland Men's Basketball Team is off to a 2-0 start. Their two wins include a home win over Valley Forge and a tough road victory at Bergen Community College.
Sophomores Kyra Lunsford and Hikeem Pruitt have stood out early for their respective teams. Lunsford poured in 26 points and Pruitt posted his second double-double in as many games, recording 24 points and 18 rebounds last Saturday.
Both the men and the women will take the court again Tuesday night, as they travel to Camden County College. The Women will start at 5 p.m. and the Men will tip off at around 7 p.m.
