Passaic Stuns Cumberland at the Buzzer

The game was tied at 60 when freshman Kyra Lunsford was fouled with 8.6 seconds remaining. Lunsford hit the first. The second free throw bounced off the iron and after being tipped, landed in the hands of Passaic's Monaee Fields.  Fields drove the length of the court and banked a five-foot runner of the glass as time expired to shock Cumberland with a 62-61 final score.  Monaee Fields scored a team-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Sophomore Alicia Cox scored a game-high 23 points and added 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals for the Dukes. Cumberland and Passaic are now tied at 6-1, along with Brookdale, atop the Garden State Athletic Conference.  The Dukes drop to an 11-1 overall record. Cumberland looks to bounce back from a tough loss when they travel up Route 55 to Gloucester County College Tuesday at 5PM.
