Dukes Win at Salem to End Skid
The Cumberland Women's Soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory at Salem Community College on Monday, snapping a four-game losing streak. The game did not start according to plan, as Salem opened the game with a Jenna Savarese goal 2 minutes into the first half.
The Dukes held it together and responded with a goal of their own. Sophomore Holly Schaper tied the game (30:15), scoring off a loose ball inside the box. Later in the game, Schaper helped Cumberland take the lead, setting up a goal by freshman Lauren Nedohon. Schaper now has 2 goals on the season.
Cumberland improved to 2-5 overall this season and will host Region 19 opponent Middlesex when the two teams square off on Thursday Sept. 27th.
