The Men's and Women's Basketball Programs swept a doubleheader at Brookdale Community College on Tuesday night. The Men started off the night with an 81-80 victory, with Shaheed Black knocking down two free-throws to give the Dukes the win. The Women fought back from an eleven point deficit to grab a 78-75 win in overtime.
For the men, Black finished the game with 16 points and 15 rebounds while Khaliq Ford scored a team high 19 for the Dukes. The Women's game saw three players score over twenty points. Sahara Lopez scored 20 points and added 9 rebounds. Sophomore Julia Dixon scored a team high 21 points, included the game-clinching three in overtime. Freshman Lynn Brown posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
With the wins, the men's basketball team improved to 7-6 overall (5-5 in Region 19) and the women's victory made it five straight for an overall record of 9-3. The two teams will be on the road again Thursday night at Middlesex County College.
