After trailing the Northampton CC Spartans 34-27 with 4:14 to go in the first half, the Dukes went on a 13-0 run to close the half and went into the break with a 40-34 lead. In the 2nd, Cumberland was able to wear down the Spartans with two major runs of 12-0 and 9-0 in a span of six minutes and fifty-four seconds. The 12-0 run started and ended with Jovan Childers' drives to the hoop, the second coming with a trip to the line to complete a three-point play. Childers starred for the #1 seeded Dukes Thursday night, scoring a game and season-high 34 points, with twenty of those coming in the forty-nine point second-half for Cumberland. With the win, Head Coach James Boney and company advance to their third consecutive Region 19 Championship Game. In that contest, the Dukes will meet the #2 seed, Middlesex County College for a 12 noon game to decide it all on Saturday. Cumberland has won both meetings between the two teams this season.
