Women's Basketball Finishes 2-0 in Maryland

The Women's Basketball team is glad to be back in action, but were not startled after having three games in three days. After defeating Ocean County College Thursday night, the team traveled to Maryland on Friday morning to play against Prince Georges Community College that night, and the made their way to play against Howard Community College. The team went 2-0 to improve to 17-1 for the season. 

In Friday night's game against Prince Georges CC, Tamyra Smith led the team with an impressive performance beyond the arc shooting 7-13 and ending the game with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Caroling Santiago finished the game with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Sahara Lopez also scored in double figures, finishing the game with 18 points. The final score was 77-60.

In Saturday's contest, Jovan Childers, Caroline Santiago, and Tamyra Smith finished the game in double figures against the very aggressive Howard CC team. Childers led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds and 6 assist. Santiago finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Smith finished with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

The next game for the dukes will be on Thursday, January 29 at Brookdale.
