Cumberland Cruises in Tarantelli Classic Semis

The Cumberland Women cruised to a 70-48 victory in the opening round of the 34th annual Tarantelli Classic to earn a spot in the title game tomorrow night. Cumberland continued their streak of a well-balanced attack.  Once again, four Dukes hit double-figures with sophomore guard Alicia Cox leading the way with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals. Tess Elder finished with 12 points, Shanece Howard with 11, and Morgan Gaines-Hunt came off the bench to add 10 points and 9 rebounds.  The Dukes will face Tompkins-Cortland Community College (TC3) to battle it out for the championship tomorrow afternoon at 3PM, hosted by Corning Community College in Corning, NY. TC3 took care of business in their semi-final, defeating SUNY Delhi in a hard-fought 51-47 victory.
