Freshman outfielder Danielle Cornman has been named the softball player of the week in the Garden State Athletic Conference for the second time this season. Cornman has been on a torrid pace this season and it continued in an 8-0 week for the #4 ranked Dukes.
She batted an impressive .692 (18 for 26) on the week, crossing the plate 12 times and driving in 19 runs over the eight-game span. In a road victory over Middlesex County College, Danielle hit a perfect 3 for 3 while driving in a season season-high 6 RBIs.
The Pennsville native followed up the next day with a 3 for 4, two run, four RBI performance that included a three-run homerun in the second game of a doubleheader sweep over the County College of Morris. Cornman is hitting .522 on the season and is currently leading the nation with 71 runs-batted-in.
