Sussex Stuns Cumberland

A feisty Sussex squad gave the visiting Dukes everything they could handle and more, handing Cumberland a 77-69 loss.  The Dukes trailed by five at the break and by as many as twelve late in the second half, before a furious comeback fell short.  The Dukes cut a 12 point deficit with 2:12 left to just four with 44.8 left, but didn't have anything else up their sleeve as Sussex knocked down clutch free throws to seal the game.  In the losing effort, Terron Mitchell finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds, recording his third double-double of the season.  With the loss, the Duke drop one game below .500 and will need to win three out of their last four in order to qualify for the Region 19 playoffs.  Their first of that stretch will come on Tuesday February 3rd in a road game at Atlantic Cape Community College.
