Fellow freshman Markevis Johnson knocked down five buckets from beyond the arc on his way to a 23 point afternoon. Johnson has been in a shooting frenzy of late, pouring in an impressive 52% from three-point-land on his way to four 20-plus scoring games in the last six contests.
The Dukes also received 12 points from starting guard Khaliq Ford and Nicholas Rodriguez, an Orlando, FL native, helped to spark the Dukes with 11 points, while dishing out five assists coming off the bench. Cumberland will look to push their current streak to four games as they host perennial Region 19 power Brookdale Community College on Tuesday night. The visiting Jersey Blues have captured the last three region titles. Cumberland-Brookdale action will tip-off at 5PM.
